Great News for Morgan County Residents
Coming in 2011

A = Access to libraries

Any resident living in Morgan County will be able to borrow materials from other Evergreen Indiana Consortium Libraries. Mooresville and Morgan County Public Libraries are Evergreen Indiana Libraries. Evergreen Indiana Consortium Mooresville Public Library is proud to announce it was one of the beta Evergreen Indiana Consortium libraries. The mission of the consortium is a collaborative partnership between public libraries to provide equitable library services to Indiana residents. We went live in 2008. Since then the consortium has continued to grow, and as of June 1, 2010, Evergreen Indiana membership includes 78 public libraries from around the state. These 78 public libraries serve over 791,000 Indiana residents.

Although the date has not been officially announced, Morgan County Public Library will be migrating to the Evergreen Indiana Consortium in 2011. What this means to Morgan County Residents; you will be able to use either library systems, Mooresville Public Library and the Morgan County Public Library. But wait, it doesn’t end there, as an Evergreen Indiana Cardholder, you will be able to check out most items from other Evergreen Indiana libraries. There may be a few exceptions, but generally materials will be available to cardholders in good standing via Intralibary Loan or visits to nearby communities, such as Greenwood or Plainfield, they too are Evergreen Indiana libraries.

B= e-BOOKS

MPL cardholders will soon have access to a collection of e-books. The library has joined the Central Indiana Digital Consortium. The seven (7) participating libraries will each contribute annual funds to purchase a collection of e-books from which participating library cardholders may select and download to their portable devices. The initial check out limit will be three (3) e-book downloads per cardholder with a seven (7) day lending period. Patrons will access the program via an icon on our website and be able to select and download books to their portable devices remotely or @ MPL. More information will be available on our website.
